About Sandra

Welcome to my website. I’m so glad you decided to stop by and get to know me a little better. I hope you’ll find something of interest here and will come back to see what’s happening in my life.

I live with my husband in a small college town in Tennessee where I grew up. We have four grown children and five grandchildren. I met my husband when I was sixteen when he came to the church I attended. We were married some years later in that church and are still members there.

I have enjoyed reading as long as I can remember. That can only be attributed to two people—my parents. They always saw that I had books to read. They were an example in my life, and I miss the times we had together. Desmond Tutu said it best when he said: You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you as you are to them.

Up until a few years ago I was working as an elementary school principal, but God opened the door for me to become a full time writer. Now I can step out of bed in the mornings, head right to my computer, and spend my days dreaming up adventures for the characters that live in my mind.

My first book Pedigreed Bloodlines was published in 2008. Since that time, I have been fortunate to have others published. My books have been finalists in the Daphne du Maurier Contest for excellence in mystery writing, the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence for romance, the Holt Medallion, and the ACFW Carol Award. In Barbour’s 18th Annual Heartsong Awards for 2010, I was one of five authors voted by readers as favorite new authors, and The Columns of Cottonwood which went on to be a finalist in the ACFW Carol Award was voted by readers as one of ten favorite historical romances of the year.

God has richly blessed me in my writing journey, and I am so happy that I can share that with you. I hope you will come back and visit me often.

Sandra passed away on January 16, 2018.
